Cashier (GE140707-EARL-001)

  • Job Details

    A Cashier is responsible for maintaining exceptional customer service as per Company standards, processing sales quickly, accurately and efficiently, operating cash registers, generating sales, merchandising and safeguarding company assets.

    • Ensure that each customer receives exceptional service by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining solid product knowledge and all other aspects of customer service as per company standards
    • Maintain an awareness and knowledge of all sales, discounts, promotions and advertisements
    • Receive payment by cash, cheque, debit or credit card for goods and provide change to customers
    • Balance the till, collect cash for all sales and reconcile with total sale
    • Count the received amount and hand the change to the customers
    • Ensuring that the goods are packed and handed to the customers at the checkout
    • Maintain orderly appearance of register area
    • Assist in replenishing, merchandising, display maintenance, and housekeeping
    • Recommend, select and help locate merchandise and explain use, operation and care of merchandise to customers
    • Communicate customer requests to management and place special orders or call other stores to find desired items
    • Assist in completing price changes within the store
    • Participate in inventory and cycle counts
    • Watch for and recognize security risks and thefts and know how to prevent or handle these situations
    • Any other tasks as assigned from time to time by any manager/supervisor

  • Education and Experience

    • Five (5) CXC O’Levels including Mathematics and English
    • Knowledge of computerized cash registers
    • Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation
    • At least one (1) year experience in a similar retail environment

Inventory Manager (GE140707-EARL-002)

  • Job Details

    • Apply accounting principles and analytical skills to produce financial information, statements and reports on the Company’s inventory balances
    • Assemble, compile and classify data for decision making purposes
    • Perform accounting work of a moderately complex nature.
    • Analyze, compare and interpret facts and figures and make sound judgment based upon this knowledge
    • Provide general research and overview of the inventory procedures and programs
    • Inventory Accounting and Control
    • Prepare journal entries and reconcile inventories to balance sheet
    • Review and adjust inventory reserves in accordance with accounting policies
    • Analyze gross margin, other cost of sales, inventory trends and turnover ratios
    • Prepare audit schedules and footnote disclosures
    • Support Stores, Category Management and Warehouse with cost, usage, transaction and inventory analysis
    • Assist Financial Planning team with forecast of gross margin and inventory levels
    • Work with Stores, Category Management and Warehouse to plan and conduct physical inventories and cycle counts
    • Reconcile physical inventories and cycle counts to Inventory and General Ledger
    • Management Reporting and Analysis
    • Assists with fiscal year end and fixed asset accounting
    • Provides training in the use of the Company’s computerized financial system and assists departmental personnel with budget questions, proper inventory accounting and adjustments, document processing and other accounting related activities
    • Supervise, coach, train and assist with the professional development of subordinates
    • Any other duties of a similar nature or level

  • Education and Experience

    • BSC in degree in Management, Supply Chain Management or related field, or Diploma Member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply or CAT graduate or Level 2 student of ACCA or similar level in CIMA plus 2 years experience in a similar position
    • Experience in the Retail or Pharmacy Industry will be an asset
